Lend me a thousand for curtains?

For the past few days, I've been strangely obsessed by Marimekko fabrics. Clean bright colors, modern designs, quirky Finnish motifs, what's not to love? You can purchase the fabric here or here.

But because I don't have several hundred dollars to spend on curtains, I'll probably settle for some fabric samples from here. You can get Marimekko remnants for less than $15. Throw pillows? Strategically placed patches? I'll find some way of using them.

For more traditional Finnish design goodness, these wall hangings are lovely. I've seen some of them in person, this web site doesn't do them justice.
